Honor a kidney hero on the National Kidney Foundation Heroes Among Us Tribute Wall
If your life has been touched by kidney disease, then you know what it's like to see courage in motion, and today we celebrate that courage! Welcome to Heroes Among Us, a special place where you can pay tribute to a loved one. Pin a virtual kidney to represent their bold resolve. Post a note and upload a picture to honor their brave determination and to inspire others. We are actively working to improve the quality of life for the 26 million Americans living with kidney disease. This silent killer takes more lives annually than breast cancer or prostate cancer. Thank you for being a part of the nationwide community of people committed to the awareness, prevention, and treatment of kidney disease. By paying tribute to the hero in your life today you will encourage and inspire others.
In Honor of Marlon Sanders by Patricia Sanders. on 2014-11-21 17:45:42
I wish to honor my son Marlon Sanders as my kidney hero. He was first diagnosed with kidney inflammation during his junior year in college. With the most amazing positive attitude, resolve, and fighting spirit, he tackled his disease head on taking full responsibility for his medications, doctor appointments, dialysis treatments, and all. Our family was blessed late this spring when he was matched with a donor kidney, and he had a successful kidney transplant. We are forever grateful to the family of the donor, the medical staff who cared for him, and the support of family and friends.
