Honor a kidney hero on the National Kidney Foundation Heroes Among Us Tribute Wall
If your life has been touched by kidney disease, then you know what it's like to see courage in motion, and today we celebrate that courage! Welcome to Heroes Among Us, a special place where you can pay tribute to a loved one. Pin a virtual kidney to represent their bold resolve. Post a note and upload a picture to honor their brave determination and to inspire others. We are actively working to improve the quality of life for the 26 million Americans living with kidney disease. This silent killer takes more lives annually than breast cancer or prostate cancer. Thank you for being a part of the nationwide community of people committed to the awareness, prevention, and treatment of kidney disease. By paying tribute to the hero in your life today you will encourage and inspire others.
My Sons by Shea Maheu. on 2015-03-18 15:07:55
My 2 boys Nicholas and Logan Maheu were diagnosed with ARPKD at birth and they have been dealt a VERY long and VERY difficult and painful life. They chose to still live life to the fullest when out of hospitals and bed. I have been by their side since the beginning for both! I hook up tube feeds, give nightly injections of Growth Hormone because their disease prevents properly growing on own, and several medications. They will both need Kidney and Liver Transplants. So the National Kidney Foundation is VERY important to my family and every year We walk to show our support for my boys and everyone that has Kidney Diseases.
